CYCLO THERAPY EXPLAINED

What is Cyclo Therapy?

Cyclo Therapy — also known as Cycloidal Vibration Therapy — is a non-invasive treatment that uses gentle, three-dimensional vibration applied to selected areas of the body.

Rather than a therapist applying deep manual pressure, specialised equipment produces a continuous oscillating movement against the body.

The movement travels in several directions rather than simply moving straight up and down, creating the distinctive cycloidal vibration used during the treatment.

For many clients, this creates a soothing massage-like sensation without the stronger pressure associated with some traditional massage techniques.

GENTLE, NON-INVASIVE WELLNESS

Why Choose Cyclo Therapy?

01

Gentle Vibration

Cyclo Therapy relies on rhythmic vibration rather than strong manual pressure, making it an option for clients who prefer a gentler treatment experience.

02

Muscular Relaxation

The repetitive vibration creates a massage-like sensation through the soft tissues and can be incorporated into a wider routine focused on relaxation and muscular wellbeing.

03

No Needles or Skin Treatments

The treatment is completely external and does not involve injections, needles, incisions or deliberately breaking the skin.

04

Easy to Personalise

Treatment areas and appointment length can be adapted according to your preferences and the areas you would like your practitioner to focus on.

THE PROCESS

What Happens During a Cyclo Therapy Session?

01

Consultation

Your appointment begins with a short discussion about why you’ve booked, the areas you would like to focus on and any relevant medical conditions, medication or sensitivities.

02

Positioning

You’ll be positioned comfortably according to the area being treated. Your practitioner will explain where the Cyclo Therapy applicator will be used and what the vibration should feel like.

03

Cycloidal Vibration

The treatment equipment is applied to the agreed area. Its three-dimensional vibration produces a continuous, rhythmic sensation through the surrounding soft tissues while you relax. Your practitioner can adjust the treatment according to your comfort where appropriate.

04

Completion & Aftercare

Once the treatment time is complete, the equipment is removed and your practitioner will check how you’re feeling. Any relevant aftercare advice will be provided before you leave.

CYCLOTHERAPY FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions About Cyclotherapy

Cyclo Therapy, or Cycloidal Vibration Therapy, is a treatment that applies controlled three-dimensional vibration to areas of the body using specialised equipment.

The treatment is non-invasive and produces a rhythmic massage-like sensation without requiring strong manual pressure.

People experiencing sciatica sometimes look for gentler alternatives to massage because firm pressure around painful or sensitive areas may be uncomfortable.

Cyclo Therapy provides vibration rather than deep manual pressure, which may make the experience more comfortable for some people.

However, Healing Hub MCR does not describe Cyclo Therapy as a cure or established treatment for sciatica.

Sciatica describes symptoms caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve and can involve pain, tingling, numbness or weakness extending from the lower back into the leg.

If you think you have sciatica — particularly if symptoms are persistent, severe or associated with weakness or numbness — appropriate medical assessment should come before relying on a wellness treatment.

Cyclo Therapy should only be considered as a complementary relaxation treatment where appropriate, rather than replacing evidence-based management.

Because Cyclo Therapy is non-invasive, there is usually little preparation or recovery associated with a straightforward wellness session.

Most clients can continue with their normal day afterwards.

How you feel following treatment can vary depending on the areas treated, treatment duration and your individual sensitivity.

Your practitioner will provide any relevant advice following your appointment.

If you develop significant or unexpected pain, swelling, numbness or another concerning symptom, seek appropriate medical advice rather than assuming it is a normal treatment response.

Cycloidal vibration describes the distinctive multi-directional movement produced by the treatment equipment.

Rather than simply vibrating up and down in one straight line, the mechanism produces a three-dimensional oscillating motion.

No. Traditional massage generally involves a practitioner manually manipulating the soft tissues using movements such as pressing, kneading or stroking. Cyclo Therapy uses mechanical vibration instead. Both can provide a relaxing experience, but they feel very different.

Cyclo Therapy produces a rhythmic vibration through the soft tissues and may appeal to clients looking for a gentle massage-like treatment when their muscles feel tense. Persistent or significant muscular pain should still be appropriately assessed rather than relying solely on vibration therapy.

Cycloidal vibration has been studied for effects on local blood flow in particular research settings. That does not mean every wellness session can be assumed to treat “poor circulation” or a circulatory condition. If you’re concerned about your circulation, seek appropriate medical advice.

Vibration therapies have been investigated in relation to fluid movement and swelling in certain specialist clinical contexts. Healing Hub MCR does not promise that a standard Cyclo Therapy session will “drain lymph”, treat lymphoedema or remove retained fluid. Persistent or unexplained swelling should be medically assessed.
